Who have you recently been reminded you of?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for March 02, 2008:

I have recently been reminded of my ex-husband. It was long ago and far away which truly makes it feel like another lifetime. I have been divorced 32 years and although I came close to remarriage a few times, it was never quite right. I was triggered to think of him and our first of 5 1/2 years together because I was listening to music from the time period. Memories of the joy one experiences when innocent and life is new rushed in. Music is magic that way. It can adhere memories to the brain and wake them up again. It is very powerful. It can inspire, protect, heal and archive. The clean vibrance of starting a new life together at that time was exhilarating and anything seemed possible. As often happens with young love, we each found ourselves with someone who wanted to live a different lifestyle than the other. Wisdom comes with mistakes. Death and dying take on new meaning and change creates momentum to grow. Looking back provided me an opportunity to retrace my path to where I am now. How I got here, and what I am doing with the journey are all culminating. It has been a road of mystery, beauty, hardship, exhaustion, excitement, volumes of laughter and spiritual blessings. Would I change it? You bet, I would have been prouder of who I was. I would have learned lessons earlier in life and found my Spiritual purpose earlier BUT....it couldn't have happened any other way and still become who I am now. Being so I Let It Be... In Beauty and Light. PE

What is life?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for March 04, 2008:

Seems to me the answer to this question is different for everyone. For me it is Birth and Actualization of the Creative Energy Force which is manifested in a myriad of ways. It manifests in body, mind, spirit and outside myself in projects, interaction, and flow. Flow of the journey which is taken by each of us from birth to transition. It occurs on all planes, in all dimensions of space and time. Life flows between spirits, mine to yours, yours to your journey, my dog to my other dog, and plants to people for example. It is the essence of all that is. A reflection of the cosmic forces in perfect synchronization with one another. Even when it doesn't seem to be synchronized. Science has already proven, nothing actually dies. Cells are always re-created. Creation is life and why the arts and art of any kind is sooooooo important to completion of who we are in whatever form each individual finds compelling. It is why it is such a travesty that the arts are poorly represented in our schools and communities. Why it is ghastly that it is the last to arrive and first to be removed in times of financial hardship. Creation in any form is what brings us closest to our own true being as a part of the Grand Creator. Let us Go Create Now! Go to our studios and make something! Go to Play Pod and Play! Go to the garage and build! Go to the park and explore natures creations. Go to the kids room and make up stories... Let's Go..Go.. Go..! Live! Every moment is another opportunity to be alive! PE

Wadda Face

Pets..Our connection to them is like no other. They care not if our moods are bad, our bodies out of whack, the house is messy or if its a rainy day. They are in our lives for differing purposes, but nonetheless live with us in a beauty way. Some are here to teach us. Some to companion, some to protect, some all of the above. Many of you have asked about little Chas-z, the dog in my icon photo. I thought I would share her story here today and let you get to know her better. Around 1992, I had an apricot/white poodle named "Angel". When she died unexpectedly, I grieved intensly. She had been my constant companion. She went everywhere with me and I loved her dearly. In the past there were other pets, but Angel was the one I connected with most. One day she was run over by a truck. I scooped her up and drove like a maniac to the only weekend emergency vet clinic in Dallas, 25 miles away. On the way there I was saying "Angel, hold on baby, hold on!"...and then I realized what I was doing. I was asking her to stay in a body that might not be repairable and was inducing great pain to her, but she stayed because I was giving her a command. That's what dogs do. They do whatever you want, because it's important to you. I immediately changed my command "Angel, I love you. Stay if you can, but its too much pain, you can go. Go if you need to. " With her in my arms she twisted, turned and took her last breath. Her spirit was gone to a kennel in the sky and she was a true Angel indeed. Once I lost her I did not get another pet. I was living in Texas and was busy making plans to move to Idaho, it was not appropriate to get another animal and I did not want one in the chaos. Once in Idaho, I began seeking out people of like mind for friendship. I found a flyer for a Cherokee gathering to which I went. The woman chiefing the gathering had many dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, and other animals. She lived in the mountain country of Idaho and had just married a man she believed was her soul mate. One of the dogs running around the property was a little white/apricot pup named Chas-z. She was a Chihuahua/Pomerainain mix and had the exact same mark on her forehead as Angel. Then, when I looked in her dark beautiul eyes, I saw Angel staring back at me. Whew! I knew then someday she would come to live with me. When I asked the woman at the ceremony about her she said it was her daughters dog. She had taken it from her daughter because she was leaving the new pup alone for weeks at a time in a lonley apartment, to spend time with her boyfriend. Mom said, no way, you can't leave a puppy for a whole week! With that she came to live with Moana. Moana and I became good friends and were frequently together. A couple of years later, her marriage not working out, Moana had to face the grim reality she had no way of supporting both her 4 children and a small zoo. I offered to take Cha-z. It was hard for her to give Chas-z up. The dog sort of belonged to one of the other kids by now and was a beloved member of the family. She was though, the smallest of dogs and was picked on a lot by larger breeds living there. Moana knew my connection with Chas-z was one of destiny and that l was ready for a new pet. With that, darling "Angel"..Chas-z came home to me. She is a very feminine lap dog. Tender, warm and a great snuggler. She is loved by everyone who meets her. She has attended many parties where she was the center of attention. Her favorite past time these days is sleepng. She is now 15 years old. In her senior years she has lost her hearing and eyesight. She still has a great spring her 18lb step though, and has wanderlust on a regular basis. She loves woodland adventures and napping in the sunshine. She's a keeper. I am happy she has found a loving home here with me and on Gaia. She is just too sweet to keep all to myself. She says a woofing "Thank You" to everyone who has made such kind remarks and compliments to her. Here on Gaia, I can share her with the world...and by the way..She loves you too!
